Layz Loungewear is grounded in a love for all things comfy and cozy. We believe that Layz is the feeling of being yourself, and we create hand-dyed, custom tie-dye designed to help you enjoy being uniquely you. Female founded and run, Layz Loungewear is committed to serving layz lewks and creating one-of-a-kind tie-dye pieces our customers love to live in.

Layz Loungewear – From Day 1 to Now

It started during quarantine

Remember those dark days? I was quarantining with a friend in upstate New York and we needed something to bring some joy, color, and fun to our lives. Enter: Tie-dye and some t-shirts. We had a blast tie-dyeing our own clothes in the backyard, and I realized I had a special talent and love for it.

And followed me back to school

During a summer business program at Dartmouth, it hit me – we were all living in loungewear. Everyone was working remotely, trying to keep their heads above water, and relying on comfy clothing. So I started tie-dying sweatpants and tanks. And when my senior year of college started back up, I brought my new tie-dye supplies and creative inspo back with me. Girls in my sorority fell for the cool, custom designs – and then word spread to other sororities and students started placing custom orders

I just couldn’t quit it

I graduated a semester early (thanks extra credits) and spent the next spring splitting my time between job searching and growing the custom tie-dye business I eventually called Layz Loungewear – a combination of the nickname my friends call me, “Lay,” and the way I prefer to spend time with my friends and family – comfy, cozy, and lazing around.

Things kept growing…

My friend made me a logo, I started an Insta and started sharing my creations, and people were here for it. I was invited to do some pop-ups at local boutiques and bakeries, trunk shows at LoveShackFancy, and even asked to do customized merch at a few bat mitzvahs, and things really took off.

And here we are!

There have definitely been some ups and downs, but Layz Loungewear is growing, thriving, and helping laidback people live their best layz lives. It’s been a rad journey, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next.
